West Indies Oil Company (WIOC) will carry out a simulated oil spill response exercise on Thursday, October 23, in collaboration with the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) and the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Marine Services (ADOMS).

The drill, which will take place in the vicinity of the Sea Island Jetty, aims to test national preparedness, emergency coordination, and environmental protection measures.

WIOC said the exercise is part of its ongoing commitment to safeguarding the environment and ensuring operational readiness in the event of a real spill.

Residents and mariners in the area are advised that the activities are part of a controlled simulation.
