ANTIGUA — A joint drug operation at the V.C. Bird International Airport on Wednesday led to the seizure of about 37 pounds of cannabis valued at more than $222,000.
Police said officers from the Narcotics Department, K-9 Unit, and Customs Enforcement conducted the search around 2:15 p.m. at the airport’s Cargo Shed. Two cardboard boxes were found containing 37 vacuum-sealed packages of the suspected drug.
A woman was taken into custody and is assisting police with investigations.
