A 44-year-old Barbuda resident has been granted bail in the sum of $5,000 after being arrested and charged with possession of 117 grams of cannabis and possession with intent to transfer.

Police said the offences occurred on October 22, when officers executed a search warrant at the man’s premises around 3:10 a.m. and found the controlled substance in his presence.

He was later granted station bail under the directive of a senior police officer and was required to produce two sureties. No cash deposit was necessary.

The man is scheduled to appear before the District “C” Magistrate’s Court in Barbuda on December 1 to answer the charges.
