    $150 Million VC Bird Airport Upgrade Underway as Barbuda Expansion Planned

    Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced major airport projects for Antigua and Barbuda, including a $150 million upgrade of VC Bird International Airport and the planned expansion of Barbuda Airport next year.

    Speaking on the 44th Independence Day, Mr Browne said the developments are designed to strengthen the country’s position as a premier Caribbean destination and a gateway to the world.

    “These projects secure our position as a premier destination and as a gateway to the Caribbean and the world,” he said.

    The Prime Minister also highlighted other infrastructure improvements, including the addition of two million gallons of water per day to the national supply and ongoing road reconstruction projects across the islands, emphasising that infrastructure development is key to the nation’s progress.
