Weeks ago our Prime Minister announced the presence in Antigua of US Admiral Alvin Holsey, for talks regarding the U.S. military activity in the Southern Caribbean. We understand from the P.M that he had advised Admiral HOLSEY that Antigua & Barbuda did not wish to host any Military Assets on its islands, and Antigua was happy it no longer hosted a Base. Kudos to the P.M.

It was therefore quite a shock a week after to hear that Admiral Holsey had resigned. Immediately rumors abound about his being fired, then eventually reading all the praises of the Head of the U.S. Military’s Southern Command, Admiral Alvin Holsey, who had officially stepped down. Further it was disclosed that the good Admiral harbored grave concerns regarding the strikes in and around seas around Venezuela. His departure came one day after the reports of the Trump administration secretly authorizing the CIA to conduct covert action with Venezuela.

Admiral Holsey is a black Admiral with more than 37 years of distinguished service, and who became the latest in the line of more than a dozen military leaders, many of them people of color and women who have been fired or pushed out by the new U.S. Department of War. Holsey resigned his position as Head of the U.S. Military Southern Command immediately on his return from talks with the Prime Ministers of Antigua & Barbuda and Grenada.

Clearly this gentleman, Admiral Alvin Holsey, refused to have history record his name as the perpetrator of the invasion of Venezuela by the USA. He quit without giving an explanation why he was stepping down from his prestigious post heading the Southern Command.

More black persons need to take note of the proud sacrifice of Admiral Holsey, and just say NO to wrongdoing!
