Prime Minister Gaston Browne warned that crime will not be tolerated and urged the youth to avoid criminal activity, as Antigua and Barbuda continues to record one of the lowest levels of violence in the Caribbean.

So far this year, nine homicides have been recorded, two fewer than last year. Recent robberies have prompted renewed law enforcement efforts, supported by technology and intelligence.

“To those who flirt with criminality, let me be clear: ‘Gun shot can’t run this town,’” he said, appealing to young people to “Level up; dream bigger, aim far — be productive and invest in knowledge and skill.”
