Rise by Jime Events has been named Large-Scale Event of the Year at the National Music Awards, edging fellow nominee Sunny Side Up for the title.

The award recognizes major events that have significantly influenced Antigua and Barbuda’s entertainment landscape, drawing large audiences and contributing to the country’s cultural and carnival experience.

Accepting the award on behalf of the organizing team, a promoter Jime Hunte thanked supporters and collaborators who helped make the event a success.

“This is not me… everybody knows there’s no ‘I’ in team,” he said. “This is a very big undertaking and we’re really appreciative of every support that we have from everybody.”

He also acknowledged members of the organizing team and partners who contributed to the event’s growth.

“Big up my team… because this is not me,” he said, adding that the event’s success reflects the collective work of many people involved in staging the production.

Rise has grown into one of the country’s most recognizable carnival-related events, attracting patrons from across Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean.

The Large-Scale Event of the Year award formed part of the National Music Awards ceremony honoring performers, promoters and entertainment stakeholders who contribute to the continued development of Antigua and Barbuda’s music and cultural industries.
