    Senator Jamilla Kirwan Announces Passing of Mother Lucy Daley

    Senator Jamilla Kirwan has announced the death of her mother, Lucy Daley, who died peacefully on Thursday night following a brief illness.

    Daley passed away at 10:50 p.m. on April 9, 2026, according to a statement shared by Kirwan on social media.

    “Our beloved Lucy transitioned peacefully to her new chapter… after a brief illness,” Kirwan wrote. “We loved her deeply, but Father loved her more than we can ever comprehend.”

    In the tribute, Kirwan described her mother as a devoted and selfless figure whose impact extended across generations of family members and the wider community.

    “Mom, words cannot fully express our gratitude for the years you poured into me and the kids… for your love, your strength, your quiet sacrifices, and your unwavering presence,” she said.

    She added that her mother’s influence reached beyond her immediate family, touching “many lives” through her “beautiful, gentle spirit.”

    “Though our hearts ache, we hold on to the truth that your journey continues in peace,” Kirwan wrote.

    She ended the tribute with a final message: “Rest now, beautiful, resilient soul. We will never stop loving you.”

    No funeral arrangements have been announced.
