Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party chairman E. P. Chet Greene says the party’s upcoming manifesto will provide a detailed, structured plan for expanding jobs, improving infrastructure and strengthening social services if returned to office.

Addressing delegates at the party’s national convention on Sunday, Greene said the document, to be released on April 20, will outline specific measures for national development rather than broad campaign promises.

“They will see clearly, line by line, measure by measure, how this nation will move forward,” Greene said.

“It is not a document of promises… it is a covenant with the people of Antigua and Barbuda,” he added.

Greene told supporters the plan will focus on improving living standards across communities, including increased employment opportunities, better earnings, upgraded infrastructure and expanded support for vulnerable groups.

“It means more jobs, better earnings, stronger schools, better health care, more reliable water, better roads, safer neighborhoods,” he said.

He said the party intends to build on its current record in government, arguing that the country has already made progress in stabilising the economy and restoring growth following recent global challenges.

“These are not slogans. These are facts,” Greene said, pointing to what he described as rising incomes and improved economic confidence.

The chairman also highlighted plans to modernise public infrastructure and bring government services closer to communities, while expanding opportunities for youth, women and entrepreneurs.

Greene urged party supporters to remain focused ahead of the April 30 general election, describing the campaign as a critical moment for maintaining continuity in governance.

The address formed part of the party’s convention, where candidates were formally ratified and supporters were encouraged to ensure their voter identification cards are valid ahead of polling day.
