Former UPP executive Desmond Charles has endorsed Prime Minister Gaston Browne, saying leadership should be the key issue in the upcoming general election.
Speaking to Antigua.news, Charles—who says he is not aligned with any party—urged voters to look beyond party loyalty and consider who has the experience to lead during increasingly complex times.
While noting he maintains a good relationship with UPP leader Jamale Pringle, Charles said he does not believe Pringle is ready to serve as prime minister.
He framed his position as rooted in national interest, stressing that voters should prioritise what is best for Antigua and Barbuda over partisan ties.
