The Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee (ABNOC) is preparing to send a 16‑member delegation to the 2026 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, which run from 24 July to 8 August 2026. The centennial edition of the CAC Games — the oldest regional multi‑sport competition in the world — is expected to feature more than 6,500 athletes across 40 sports.

ABNOC 1st Vice‑President Thomas Greenaway will serve as Chef de Mission. Mr. Greenaway brings extensive experience managing regional Games and will lead the team competing in Athletics, Swimming, Table Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Weightlifting and Sailing. The 2026 Games will mark Antigua and Barbuda’s first appearance in Olympic‑style weightlifting competition at the CAC Games, while Sailing entries will cover three different disciplines. Table Tennis continues to grow as part of the nation’s expanding sports programme.

“The CAC Games provide an important platform for our athletes to gain experience against the region’s best,” said Cliff Williams, ABNOC Secretary General. “We are proud to send a focused team, including athletes making historic firsts for Antigua and Barbuda, and we look forward to strong performances and continued development across all sports.”

The Games’ July–August schedule overlaps with the 2026 Commonwealth Games, creating a significant scheduling challenge for athletes and organisers. With athletics events at the CAC Games scheduled from 3–8 August and the Commonwealth athletics programme taking place earlier in the same period, some athletes may be able to contest both events, but careful planning will be required. ABNOC is working closely with athletes, coaches and partners to manage logistics, selection and recovery to ensure the best possible performances in Santo Domingo.
