A man died on Tuesday afternoon after suffering an apparent medical emergency shortly after arriving at V.C. Bird International Airport on a regional flight.
Reports indicate the passenger collapsed around 2 p.m. shortly after disembarking the aircraft.
Firefighters from the Coolidge Fire Station immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation before Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived and transported him to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Authorities have not yet released the man’s age or nationality. A post-mortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
Police investigations are ongoing.
