The police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of 44-year-old Shomari Ajamu Charles of Longfords.
At approximately 11:50 a.m. on Monday, October 5th, police responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on a by-road at Dry Hill, in the vicinity of the late Asot Michael residence.
It is alleged that Charles was driving a Hyundai Tucson SUV from south to north along the roadway when he apparently lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle reportedly ran off the eastern side of the road through a wire fence, and overturned on its roof.
Charles was found unresponsive at the scene.
Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived at the scene and transported him to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. He was subsequently pronounced dead at approximately 12:33 p.m. The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation.
The Police Administration extends sincere condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Mr. Charles during this difficult period of loss and bereavement.
