Recent developments at the Solid Waste Department have raised questions about the internal management dynamics.

Reports suggest that management has taken a more hands-on approach, leading to concerns that she is micro-managing operations.

This shift in management style has left many employees feeling unable to perform their roles effectively.

The department has faced significant turnover, with key personnel departures.

First, the Collections Manager left in 2025, followed by the abrupt exit of a Landfill Consultant. Most recently, the Human Resources Manager has also resigned. This pattern of turnover raises alarms about the stability and morale within the department.

Social media activity indicates a heightened awareness of these issues, as evidenced by a recent ad on Facebook that points to a sense of urgency in addressing the department’s challenges.

It’s imperative that Prime minister Gaston Browne takes immediate action to address these growing concerns. Without prompt intervention, the operational integrity of the Solid Waste Department could be at stake.
