Prime Minister Gaston Browne called on young people to seize training opportunities in construction, saying they could play a central role in building public-sector housing projects across Antigua and Barbuda.

Speaking on the 44th Independence Day, Mr Browne highlighted the Booby Alley Social Housing Project, funded by China, which will deliver 150 two-bedroom condominium units to former residents. A further 100 homes are planned for Bolans and Barbuda.

The Prime Minister encouraged young Antiguans and Barbudans to gain the skills needed to participate in future projects, stressing that these initiatives not only provide homes but also offer employment, financial stability, and a path to generational wealth.

“Each home we build is more than concrete and timber; it is a monument to dignity and belonging,” he said.
