District Disaster Coordinators and volunteer teams demonstrated life-saving skills during the first Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) Exhibition held Sunday at the St. Johnston’s Village Playing Field.

The event, organized by the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS), brought together emergency responders and community members for an afternoon of practical demonstrations focused on disaster readiness and response. Attendees observed techniques aimed at improving public awareness and strengthening community resilience in the face of emergencies.

The exhibition was supported by funding from the National Disaster Facility under the 11th European Development Fund, with additional backing from the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA).

Organizers also acknowledged the support of several local agencies and partners, including the Central Board of Health, Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross, Emergency Medical Services, Police Force, Fire Department, Ministry of Works and Housing, APUA, and other public and private sector contributors who assisted in staging the event.
