The Dominica Council on Ageing Inc. (DCOA) has announced the death of the country’s oldest known centenarian, Asher Timothy of Marigot, who passed away at the age of 108.

Timothy, who had recently been relocated to the Dominica Infirmary, was described by the organization as a symbol of resilience and longevity, representing the strength of the nation’s elderly population.

In a statement, the DCOA said his life reflected perseverance and the enduring heritage of older generations, noting that his passing has been felt deeply within the Marigot community and across the wider Dominican public.

The council extended condolences to his family and loved ones, while also acknowledging the impact he had on those who knew him.

Timothy’s life was celebrated as an example of endurance and commitment, with the organization encouraging reflection on the contributions of the country’s senior citizens.

He is being remembered not only for his remarkable age but for the legacy he leaves behind.
