    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

_POLICE ISSUE WARNING AGAINST REMOVAL AND DESTRUCTION OF POLITICAL CAMPAIGN MATERIALS_

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Saturday, April 18, 2026

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda wishes to inform the general public that it has been brought to the attention of the Commissioner of Police and the Police Administration that individuals are engaging in the removal, defacing, and destruction of political flyers, posters, and billboards across various communities.

The Force takes this matter seriously. Such actions are unlawful and undermine the democratic process, particularly during a period of heightened political activity. Political materials lawfully placed by parties or their representatives are protected, and any interference with them constitutes a criminal offence.

Members of the public are hereby warned to desist immediately from engaging in these activities. The Police are actively monitoring the situation, and increased surveillance measures are being implemented in affected areas. Any individual found removing, tampering with, or destroying political campaign materials—whether identified through surveillance footage or reported by credible witnesses—will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the laws of Antigua and Barbuda.

The Royal Police Force also calls on the political leadership of all parties to play a responsible role during this period by encouraging their supporters and affiliates to act lawfully and refrain from engaging in the destruction or removal of campaign materials.

The Royal Police Force is committed to ensuring a peaceful and orderly environment for all citizens and urges everyone to respect the rights of others, regardless of political affiliation.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact the nearest police station or call the Criminal Investigations Department.

The cooperation of the public is appreciated as we work together to uphold law and order during this period.
