With days remaining before voters in Antigua and Barbuda go to the polls, the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission has issued guidance aimed at ensuring an orderly election day.
Polling stations will open at 06:00 and close at 18:00 on Thursday, 30 April. Voters are being urged to arrive prepared, follow instructions from presiding officers, and present their voter identification cards.
The Commission said electors must carefully review their ballots and vote for only one candidate, warning that multiple selections will invalidate the vote. Voters are also encouraged to seek clarification from officials if they are unsure about any part of the process.
Strict rules will be enforced at polling stations. Mobile phones and smart devices will not be permitted in voting areas, while political party colours, campaign materials and disruptive behaviour are also banned.
“No election paraphernalia will be permitted within 100 yards of polling stations,” the advisory stated.
The Commission said the measures are necessary to maintain order, neutrality and the integrity of the electoral process.
