    8am EDT Oct 5th — NHC is monitoring an area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave (#AL95) which now has a high chance (70%) of formation over the next week. It is forecast to approach the Leeward Islands by late this week.

    ### **Tropical Atlantic Disturbance Likely to Develop This Week**

    A **broad area of low pressure (Invest AL95)**, linked to a tropical wave, continues to generate disorganized showers and thunderstorms several hundred miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

    Forecasters say **conditions are favorable for gradual development**, and a **tropical depression is likely to form during the week** as the system moves quickly westward across the central tropical Atlantic.

    The disturbance could **approach the Leeward Islands by the latter part of the week**, prompting early monitoring across the northeastern Caribbean.
