Kaution Band has been named Jam Band of the Year at the National Music Awards, beating fellow contender Burning Flames to capture the title.

The award recognizes the impact of jam bands on Antigua and Barbuda’s live music and carnival entertainment scene, where both groups have played major roles over the years.

Accepting the award on behalf of the group, a representative of Kaution Band thanked fans, promoters and collaborators who have supported the band’s journey.

“This award is not only an award but it is a sign of much more hard work that we have to put in to get where we want to be,” he said. “But we’re not going to get there without you guys — the fans that support us over the years.”

The band also acknowledged promoters and fellow artists who have contributed to its growth within the music industry.

“Thanks to the promoters who book us for the fetes and give us a platform to give us the exposure,” he said, adding, “Kaution would not be here without you guys.”

The Jam Band of the Year category was one of several honors presented during the National Music Awards ceremony, which celebrated performers, producers and entertainers across Antigua and Barbuda’s music industry.
