The Central Board of Health has marked the retirement of Mrs. Doris Lucia Blair Thomas after 45 years of service, praising her longstanding contribution to the department and the wider public health system.
In a tribute posted on Thursday, the board said Blair Thomas served as secretary to four Chief Health Inspectors during her career and also provided support and guidance to staff within the Public Health Inspectorate and other units.
The board described her as a steady and valuable presence whose knowledge, experience and professionalism made a lasting impact on the department.
Officials also thanked Blair Thomas for her commitment and support over the years, saying her legacy would remain even as she steps away from active service.
The tribute ended on a light-hearted note, joking that staff would no longer be able to ask her, “Can you just type this quick?” now that she is officially retired.
