Athletes preparing to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the CARIFTA Games received guidance and encouragement from Melissa Seaforth during a special session hosted by the Antigua Barbuda Athletic Association (ABAA).

Seaforth, a professional bodybuilder and back-to-back Sportswoman of the Year for 2024 and 2025, spoke with the CARIFTA-bound team about the mental and physical demands of high-level competition. Drawing on her experience as the 2025 IFBB Pro Masters World Champion, she offered practical advice on preparing for major events, pushing through intense training sessions, and performing under pressure.

She also highlighted the importance of discipline and planning, sharing the principle of the “5 P’s” — Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance — as a key foundation for success.

The session was interactive, with athletes posing questions about managing nerves and maintaining focus on the big stage.

ABAA officials expressed appreciation to Seaforth for her time and mentorship, noting that her insights are expected to have a positive impact on the young athletes as they continue their preparations for regional competition.
