Senator Johnathon Joseph has expressed confidence that St Mary’s North will be won by the United Progressive Party(UPP) in the April 30 general election.

Speaking at the party’s campaign launch, Mr Joseph said he believed the constituency was “coming home” to the UPP, pointing to three years of canvassing and community engagement.

“I’m pretty confident,” he said. “St Mary’s North is coming home under the column of the United Progressive Party.”

Mr Joseph said his campaign had focused on listening to residents and understanding their priorities. “It’s their community… they know the kind of community that they want to see,” he added.

He said his long-standing ties to the area, including growing up in Jennings, had helped him connect with voters. “Their struggles are my struggles, their concerns are my concerns,” he said.

Mr Joseph is contesting the seat against Philmore Benjamin of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP), who was recently selected to replace retiring MP Sir Molwyn Joseph.

He described the race as competitive but said success would depend on maintaining strong connections with constituents.

In the final weeks of campaigning, Mr Joseph said he would continue meeting voters and encouraging participation in the electoral process.

“Exercise your democratic right… and select a representative who will listen and speak on your behalf,” he said.
