Nearly 1,000 voter ID replacement applications were processed during the week of April 12–18, according to the latest report from the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC), reflecting continued high demand ahead of the April 30 general election.

The commission’s weekly report shows a total of 999 replacement applications across all constituencies for the period, with activity concentrated almost entirely on April 12 and 13. No applications were recorded from April 14 through April 18.

On April 12, 206 applications were processed, followed by a sharp increase to 793 applications on April 13. The remaining days in the reporting period recorded zero activity.

Among constituencies, St. John’s Rural West recorded the highest number of applications for the week with 117 , followed by St. George with 104 , and All Saints West with 99. Other high-performing constituencies included St. Mary’s North (98) and St. John’s Rural East (91).

At the lower end, Barbuda recorded six applications , while St. Philip North registered nine for the same period.

ABEC’s cumulative report shows that for April so far, the total number of replacement applications stands at 4,970 , contributing to a broader grand total of 28,321 applications processed across all reporting periods.

In terms of completion rates, several constituencies have surpassed the halfway mark. St. Peter leads with 86% completion , followed by Barbuda at 76% and St. Philip North at 74%. Most other constituencies range between 51% and 63%.

The data underscores a sustained surge in voter ID updates and replacements as the country approaches polling day, with election officials continuing to encourage eligible voters to collect their cards in time to participate in the upcoming vote.
