The Prices and Consumer Affairs Division is advising the public that Kia America is recalling approximately 141,000 Kia Carnival SUVs due to a fuel-pipe defect.

The recall applies to Kia Carnival models built between 2022 and 2026. The defect involves the fuel pipe connection to the fuel rail, which may leak fuel and fuel leakage from this connection can increase the risk of a fire.

Official notification letters are expected to be mailed to registered owners in the USA starting June 2, 2026. However, given the fire risk associated with this defect, the Division advises local owners to be proactive.

The Division reminds the public that consumers are not required to pay for repairs related to a manufacturer’s safety recall.

Consumers may also contact the Prices and Consumer Affairs Division at 462-4347, via email at consumeraffairs@ab.gov.ag or visit our website at consumeraffairs.gov.ag for additional information or assistance.
