STATEMENT BY ABLO CANDIDATE DWAYNE GEORGE: Last night, (Kelvin Simon), Shuggy made a series of statements about me that demand a clear and firm response. In any democratic society, political discourse is expected to be vigorous but it must also be responsible and rooted in truth.
The allegations put forward are serious, and at the appropriate time, they will have to be proven.
One cannot simply take to a platform and peddle misinformation, disinformation, and falsehoods in an attempt to tarnish another person’s character for political advantage.
Let me be equally clear: I will not descend to that level. I will not engage in character assassination or reckless attacks to win favor. That is not leadership, and it is not the standard I represent.
My responsibility is to the people, to serve them with integrity, to speak honestly, and to remain focused on the issues that truly matter.
There is also a broader consequence that must not be ignored. When you seek to defame a public servant, you are not operating in a vacuum.
You affect families, supporters, and communities. You undermine trust in public life, and you risk alienating the very people whose confidence we are all seeking.
Those individuals are not just bystanders, they are voters, and they deserve better than the politics of distortion and division.
I stand firm in my commitment to a higher standard, one of truth, accountability, and respect. And I am confident that, in the end, the people will distinguish between noise and substance, between falsehood and fact.
