More than 60% of voters in Antigua and Barbuda have completed the process to replace their identification cards, according to the latest figures released by the Electoral Commission.

The Commission’s official report for April 2026 shows that 31,391 applications have been processed so far, with 8,040 completed in April alone. This puts the overall completion rate at approximately 61% nationwide.

Several constituencies are recording strong progress. St Peter leads with 91% completion, followed by Barbuda at 78% and St Philip North at 76%. All Saints West and St Mary’s South are also among the higher-performing areas, both nearing or exceeding two-thirds completion.

However, some constituencies are moving at a slower pace. St John’s Rural South and St Mary’s North are just below 60%, while St John’s City West remains at 61%, indicating uneven progress across the country.

The data for the week of 19–25 April shows a total of 1,088 replacement applications processed. Activity peaked early in the week, with 393 applications recorded on 20 April and 335 on 21 April. Processing slowed significantly towards the end of the period, with no recorded activity between 23 and 25 April.

Daily new applications remain comparatively low, with 148 new submissions recorded during the same week. This suggests that while replacement processing continues steadily, fewer new applicants are entering the system.

The Electoral Commission has not indicated a deadline but continues to encourage eligible voters to complete the replacement process. The updated voter ID cards are expected to play a key role in future electoral activities.
