    APUA’s Longest-Serving Employee Retires After 46 Years of Service

    The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has announced the retirement of its longest-serving employee, Claudette Martin Ladoo, marking the end of a 46-year career with the organization.

    “Today, we proudly celebrate an extraordinary milestone at APUA,” the statement read. “After an incredible 46 years of dedicated service, Mrs. Claudette Martin Ladoo officially retires as our longest serving employee.”

    Martin Ladoo began her career in 1979 in the Billing Department, now known as the Data Processing Department, and rose to the position of Accounts Receivable Controller. Over the decades, she became a central figure within the organization, described as “a pillar of commitment, excellence, and professionalism.”

    APUA noted that her tenure spanned the institution’s early development to its current form, highlighting her influence across generations of staff. “Her journey spans the early, formative years of APUA to the organization we are today. Along the way, she has inspired generations with her warmth, humility, and unwavering dedication,” the statement said.

    The organization also reflected on her broader legacy, stating that “Mrs. Ladoo’s legacy reminds us that true greatness is built over time, through consistency, pride, and a genuine passion for service.”

    APUA expressed gratitude for her decades of service and extended well wishes for her retirement. “On behalf of the entire APUA family, we thank you for 46 remarkable years and wish you a fulfilling and well-deserved retirement.”

    Martin Ladoo’s service officially concluded on April 20, 2026.
