ABLP candidate for St. John’s Rural South Daryll S. Matthew has issued a warning to voters after reports that individuals are receiving misleading phone calls directing them to incorrect polling stations on Election Day.

In a public message shared this morning, Matthew said persons claiming to be affiliated with the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) have been contacting voters and providing false information about where they should cast their ballots.

“Persons have been receiving phone calls from persons claiming to be from the ABLP and have been sending persons to incorrect polling stations,” he said, urging electors to rely only on verified information.

Matthew outlined the correct polling arrangements for the constituency, breaking them down by district.

In District A, which includes Ottos New Town, Radio Range and All Saints Road, voters are assigned to Minoah Magnet Academy.

For District B — covering Tindale Road, De Souza Road, Kentish Road and Lower Ottos — polling is split alphabetically. Voters with last names beginning A to J are to vote at the Tindale Seventh-day Adventist Church, while those with last names from K to Z are assigned to the PDO building at Ben Dung.

District C, which includes Nut Grove, Golden Grove, Golden Grove Extension, Creek Side and Creek Side Extension, will vote at Golden Grove Primary School.

Matthew urged residents to double-check their assigned polling station and not rely on unsolicited calls, particularly on a day as critical as the general election.

Polling stations opened at 6 a.m. across Antigua and Barbuda, with voters turning out to cast ballots in what is expected to be a closely watched election.
