Police are investigating an alleged assault on a supermarket owner at Wilkinson’s Cross in St. John’s after he was reportedly struck in the face with an iron pipe during an early morning incident on Friday.
According to reports, an unknown man entered the supermarket and began behaving aggressively toward the owner. The owner reportedly asked the man to leave the premises.
The situation escalated when the man allegedly attacked the businessman and struck him across the jaw with a piece of iron pipe before fleeing the area.
Police later responded to the scene and conducted a search of the surrounding area, but the suspect was not located.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing. No arrests have been reported.
