Police are investigating two thefts reported in the Bolans area after construction and agricultural equipment disappeared from separate locations over the weekend.

One incident involved a Bosch jackhammer valued at about US$2,000, which was reported missing from a storage container at the Chapa Housing Project. The tool is believed to have been taken between Friday afternoon and Monday morning. Investigators said there was no evidence of forced entry.

Officers have interviewed several people and gathered information as part of the investigation, but the jackhammer has not been recovered.

In a separate case, thieves broke into the Agriculture Station at Green Castle and stole four weed wackers and a mist blower. The break-in is believed to have occurred between Saturday and Monday morning.

Reports indicate that the suspects forced open two locks to gain access to the equipment and damaged a window before leaving the premises. The value of the stolen items has not yet been determined.

Police said investigations into both matters are continuing.
