WFTA Concludes Connect2Reconnect Pilot Visit to Antigua, Barbuda and Dominica
The Waltham Forest, Antigua & Barbuda and Dominica Twinning Association (WFTA) has concluded its Connect2Reconnect (C2R) Pilot 2026 delegation visit, aimed at strengthening ties between the London Borough of Waltham Forest and its Caribbean partners.
The delegation, led by Chair Mervin Caesar-John, visited Antigua, Barbuda and Dominica from April 20 to May 8. Activities included meetings with government officials, community leaders and cultural organizations.
In Barbuda, the delegation met with MP Trevor Walker and Barbuda Council Chair John Mussington and visited The Lit! Project. In Antigua, discussions were held with Governor General Sir Rodney Williams on issues including community wellbeing and dementia awareness.
The delegation also traveled to Dominica, where members participated in stakeholder meetings, attended the Jazz ‘n Creole Festival and engaged in media and cultural activities.
As part of the visit, framed twinning declarations were presented in each destination, reaffirming partnerships established in April 1999. The association described the initiative as an important milestone in its 27-year history.
