The Antigua and Barbuda National Accreditation Board (ABNAB) is stepping up efforts to strengthen the country’s quality assurance and accreditation systems through a series of training and preparation sessions aimed at enhancing institutional capacity and achieving international recognition.

The initiative forms part of the Board’s broader strategy to build a modern and efficient accreditation framework capable of supporting standards development and quality assurance across Antigua and Barbuda.

ABNAB said a key component of the effort is the integration of digital technology into its accreditation processes. The move is intended to improve transparency, efficiency and responsiveness while creating a stronger framework for managing accreditation and quality assurance activities.

The Board said digital transformation is essential to ensuring that its systems remain capable of meeting evolving national and international requirements.

As part of the ongoing preparations, digital development consultant Kenlie Browne has joined accreditation consultant Perliter Walters-Gilliam and members of the ABNAB team in refining and strengthening the institution’s accreditation processes.

ABNAB described the collaboration as an important step toward modernizing the country’s approach to standards, quality assurance and institutional development.

The Board said its focus extends beyond addressing current needs and is aimed at establishing a sustainable foundation for future growth. Officials noted that ongoing efforts are designed to keep Antigua and Barbuda’s accreditation systems aligned with international best practices while supporting national development goals.

ABNAB said it will continue to provide updates as work progresses on its accreditation and digital transformation initiatives.
