Senator Tiffany Strann-Peters says she has returned to Antigua and Barbuda with new perspectives on global issues after participating in a two-week leadership seminar in the People’s Republic of China.

In a social media post, Strann-Peters said she joined 29 young leaders from around the world during the Seminar on Young Leaders under the Global Development Initiative , describing the experience as one she will “always cherish.”

“For fourteen days, I had the privilege of joining 29 young leaders from across the world,” she wrote. “Every conversation, every cultural exchange and every session offered a new perspective.”

She said discussions during the seminar ranged from the changing global economy to the impact of artificial intelligence, adding that she returned home with fresh ideas and an even greater appreciation for international collaboration.

The senator expressed gratitude to the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce and the University of International Business and Economics for making the opportunity possible.

Strann-Peters also said she was proud to promote Antigua and Barbuda during the programme, noting that support from the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority allowed the delegation to showcase the country’s tourism product and culture.

“We were able to showcase our beautiful twin-island nation and remind others that, while we may be small, our culture and spirit leave a lasting impression,” she wrote.

She added that sharing the experience with fellow Antiguan delegates made the trip even more meaningful.

“We represented our country with pride,” Strann-Peters said.
