A 45-year-old Bendals woman who had been hospitalized since suffering multiple chop wounds in a June attack has died, more than six weeks after she was found critically injured along a roadside in Sea View Farm.
Kerrianne Eubanks died on Saturday at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where she had remained in intensive care since June 20. A family member confirmed her death.
Police said Eubanks was discovered with severe injuries to her head and other parts of her body and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Her death is expected to result in the investigation being treated as a homicide if it had not already been classified as such.
When the attack was first reported, Eubanks had not been publicly identified and was referred to only as a woman found gravely injured along the roadside. Her identity was confirmed in the days that followed.
Eubanks, a mother of two, leaves behind her children and other relatives.
Police have not announced any arrests or charges in connection with the attack, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
