The Antigua and Barbuda Association of Persons Living with Disabilities is appealing for public assistance for Nneka George, a young woman recovering from a stroke while grieving the loss of her child.

The association is asking individuals, businesses, churches, women’s organisations and community groups in Antigua and Barbuda and overseas to provide practical support as George faces significant physical and emotional challenges.

According to the organisation, George needs assistance with rehabilitation, mobility and accessibility, daily care, food, household essentials and emotional support as she works towards greater stability and independence.

The association also drew attention to the difficulties faced by vulnerable women living with disabilities, particularly those who may struggle to communicate their needs or access support independently.

It is urging the public to move beyond sympathy and offer meaningful assistance.

“Every contribution matters. Every act of kindness matters. Every person who reaches out can make a difference,” the association said.

The organisation said the support of the wider community could help George through what it described as an exceptionally difficult period.
