Members of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party’s St. Paul’s constituency branch gathered at Gracehill Cemetery on Oct. 17 to honour Stanley “Abby” Warner on what would have been his 66th birthday.
According to the Oct. 18 edition of St. Paul’s Weekly, acting branch chairman Conliffe Phillip led members in cleaning Warner’s headstone, while others arranged fresh floral tributes.
The gathering continued with a shared breakfast near the cemetery, where members recalled Warner’s laughter, commitment to his community and ability to brighten a room.
Phillip paid tribute to Warner as a friend and mentor whose contribution should continue to be remembered.
“We are here today because Stanley ‘Abby’ Warner was more than a comrade; he was a brother, a mentor and a friend,” Phillip said.
“His departure has left a void that can never be filled but his legacy is one we must keep alive.”
The newspaper described the gathering as a celebration of Warner’s life, with members sharing stories and memories over saltfish, fried dumplings and bush tea.
