Police are investigating a home invasion in Donavans after a resident was held at gunpoint and robbed of $1,500 in cash.

George Crump contacted the Grays Farm Police Station on Sunday, reporting that an unknown assailant had entered his home and demanded money at gunpoint.

Responding officers said Crump described the intruder as a slim male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, dressed in black clothing and wearing gloves.

Crump told police he had gotten up to use the bathroom when he encountered the armed man inside his home. The suspect pointed a firearm at him and demanded money. Fearing for his life, Crump complied and handed over his black wallet, which contained the cash.

The suspect escaped through a northern aluminum kitchen window, which was later found closed but unlocked. Investigators believe the intruder may have gained access using a key that had been left in the kitchen door.

Police launched a search based on the suspect’s description but were unable to locate the individual. Investigations are ongoing.
