A mother is demanding a full investigation after her teenage son was allegedly assaulted by a teacher at the Princess Margaret School, leaving him with facial swelling and requiring medical attention.
The incident reportedly occurred last Thursday when the student went to speak with his form teacher about a previous suspension. The teacher allegedly accused him of inappropriate contact and reacted by striking him across the face.
The student is said to have returned to his classroom following the altercation. His mother later discovered that his face was swollen and contacted the school’s administration. When she met with the principal and assistant principal the following day, they reportedly had no prior knowledge of the incident.
A meeting was later held, and the student was instructed to prepare a written report on what had taken place. The mother sought medical attention for her son and has expressed concern that the teacher acted without verifying the facts before taking physical action.
Lambert is calling on the Ministry of Education to conduct a thorough investigation. She maintains that no teacher has the right to physically assault a student, especially over an unconfirmed allegation.
