Denfield’s resident loses cash, jewellery and passports in home break-in
A woman from Denfield’s has been left counting her losses after returning home on Monday to find that her house had been burglarised and a safe containing thousands of dollars and personal documents had been stolen.
Police say the break-in occurred sometime between 07:25 and early afternoon, while the homeowner was away. The woman contacted the authorities shortly after midday when she discovered the theft.
Investigators believe the intruder pried open a kitchen window with a flat object, creating just enough space for someone of small build to squeeze inside. Once in the two-storey home, the burglar reportedly searched all three bedrooms.
Among the stolen items were passports, cash, Pandora bracelets, rings, earrings, an ID bracelet, a designer watch, and several food items and a bottle of liquor.
The woman told police she had secured the property before leaving for the day.
Authorities say the investigation is continuing as they work to identify those responsible.
