Generation Next Football Club (GNFC), in proud partnership with the Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF), continues to transform the future of youth football in Antigua and Barbuda. This month marks a historic moment as GNFC welcomes home athletes from UK-based football programs.

National goalkeeper, Alyssa Laviscount, GNFC’s lone female footballer on this particular trip, returned from Brooke House College in the United Kingdom on Sunday, while her male counterparts – Jadyn Browne, Cole Garner, Zion Philip, Sadiq Williams, and Devonte Norris – returned from Ackworth School, where they too gained invaluable football and academic experience. These opportunities are intended to open the doors for potential scholarships.

“This isn’t just a proud moment for Alyssa: it’s a defining moment for every girl in football across Antigua and Barbuda,” said a GNFC representative, Jonathan Thoroughgood. “She’s proven that talent has no gender and deserves equal opportunity.”

Calvin Ayre Foundation’s Manager, Jamilla Kirwan said, “As a Foundation, we believe that investing in young people is one of the most meaningful ways to shape a brighter future, not just for individuals, but for entire communities. Whether it’s a chance to train abroad, access higher-quality education, or simply believe in their own potential, we are committed to opening doors.”

The young players were accompanied by GNFC Coach, Gabriel “Skinny” Graham.

“Watching these kids rise to the occasion and represent Antigua and Barbuda with heart and discipline was incredible,” Graham expressed. “This experience has opened their eyes to what’s possible; and that’s the true win,” he said.
