A series of traffic collisions across the island in recent days has prompted police investigations. On July 17th, more than four incidents were reported.

The first occurred at around 8 a.m. at the junction of High and Market Street, where a driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving.

Later that morning, at 10:50 a.m., a collision on Lower Church Street involved a black compact car and a brown SUV. The SUV, which was parked, moved off without ensuring safety, then made a U-turn and collided with the parked vehicle. No injuries or significant damage were reported; both drivers reached an agreement and received warnings of intended prosecution.

In the afternoon, a collision on Buckley Line involved a white compact car and a white SUV. The SUV was reversing onto Buckley Line when it collided with the moving car. Minor damage was noted, and both drivers were warned of prosecution, with no injuries reported.

Later that evening, around 8 p.m., a crash on Jonas Road involved a red compact car and a silver SUV. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction; the compact failed to stop in time and hit the rear of the SUV. No injuries occurred, and both drivers received warnings.

Shortly after midnight on July 18th, on Market Street, a vehicle traveling at high speed lost control and crashed into a house. The driver, who appeared intoxicated, sustained severe damages and was taken to hospital for evaluation. The driver was issued a warning of intended prosecution, and authorities continue to urge safe driving.
