The Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union (ABWU) will host its annual Youth Congress on 20 August, bringing together more than 200 young workers under the theme: _“Adaptability to Ensure Sustainability: Encouraging Entrepreneurship in Youth.”_

Blair Rose, President of the ABWU Youth Arm, said the gathering will equip young workers to navigate a rapidly changing job market. “Our survival depends on retooling, education, and training,” he stated, adding that entrepreneurship is key to long-term economic stability.

The congress is designed to amplify youth voices within the labour movement and promote greater participation. “We may lack years of experience, but we bring strong educational backgrounds, fresh perspectives, and a willingness to learn,” Rose said.

The Youth Arm’s executive recently met to review its progress and reaffirm its commitment to empowering young people.

Rose encouraged young workers across the country to get involved, stressing the importance of shaping a future-ready workforce. “This journey starts now,” he said.
