Michael Freeland has expressed heartfelt condolences following the passing of Regan Calliste, brother of St George MP Algernon “Serpent” Watts.
Calliste, a respected Elder in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and former Director of the National Vocational and Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities, was remembered for his lifelong commitment to service and compassion.
In a public statement, Freeland said he was deeply saddened by the news and extended sympathies to the Calliste family. “May God’s comfort surround you, and may Regan’s legacy of kindness endure,” he wrote.

It is with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of Regan Calliste, the beloved brother of St. George MP Algernon Watts.
As an Elder in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and former Director of the National Vocational and Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities, Regan dedicated his life to serving others with compassion and grace.
My deepest condolences to MP Watts and the entire Calliste family during this heartbreaking time—may God’s comfort surround you, and may Regan’s legacy of kindness endure. Rest in peace. 🙏🏽
