Forecasters in Antigua and Barbuda say Tropical Disturbance AL91, currently over the central Atlantic, has weakened and is unlikely to develop into a stronger system.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service (ABMS) reported on Saturday morning that the disturbance has only a 30% chance of forming over the next 48 hours, a probability that remains unchanged over the coming week.

At 9:45 local time, AL91 was located about 1,473 miles east-south-east of Antigua and Barbuda, moving west at around 10 mph (16 km/h) with winds near 25 mph and stronger gusts.

Officials emphasised that the risk to the Eastern Caribbean, including the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands, is very low. No watches or warnings are currently in effect.

Residents are advised to stay prepared for the remainder of the hurricane season and monitor official updates. The next advisory is expected on Sunday afternoon, or sooner if conditions change.
