Family, friends and supporters of Kahleel Simon are set to gather at Police Headquarters on Friday to demand justice for the 18-year-old, who was shot dead by police on his birthday in Bolans on 27 August.

Kelvin Simon, the area’s Member of Parliament, urged residents to join the demonstration, calling for transparency and accountability in the ongoing investigation. “More than two months on, the family and community are still waiting for the truth,” he wrote on Facebook.

The protest is scheduled to begin at 3pm. Earlier this month, demonstrators gathered at Bolans Police Station.

The case is being treated as a Coroner’s Case, with a Coroner’s Inquest expected as part of ongoing proceedings.
