The police have confirmed that a fourth body has been found in St Elizabeth following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

Head of the St Elizabeth Police, Superintendent Coleridge Minto updated our news centre moments ago.

SP Minto says three of the bodies are male and one female.

Two of the men have been identified as 35-year-old Davion Johnson and 57-year-old Glenroy Johnson.

SP Minto says preliminary information suggests the 35-year-old drowned and the 57-year-old may have suffered a heart attack.

The police say two bodies were found at Gallon Beach. One of the deceased from Gallon Beach has been identified as 57-year-old, Darlene Bambridge.

Authorities previously reported that three people died in hurricane related incidents in the build up to the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

Two were crushed by trees and one was electrocuted before the hurricane made landfall.
