Environmental Awareness Group hosted its Green Jobs Symposium 2026 at the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus in St. John’s, bringing together students, professionals and corporate partners to explore career opportunities in the green and blue economy.

The event featured a panel of speakers who delivered presentations aimed at informing and inspiring secondary and tertiary-level students about sustainable career pathways. Organisers said the discussions were marked by candid insights and active engagement from the audience.

The group expressed appreciation to sponsors First Caribbean International Bank (CIBC Caribbean) and The UWI Five Islands Campus for their financial support and for providing the venue.

Students from across Antigua and Barbuda attended the symposium, posing questions to panelists and participating in discussions on conservation, sustainability and emerging environmental industries.

Organisers said they hope the symposium encourages young people to pursue careers linked to environmental protection and the blue economy.

The Environmental Awareness Group has also invited organisations interested in supporting Green Jobs 2027 to contact its office to explore sponsorship opportunities.
