Antigua and Barbuda’s rising football star Drake Hadeed has officially signed with Spanish club Antequera CF, a team competing within Spain’s professional football structure governed by La Liga. The move marks a significant milestone for the young Antiguan international as he continues to elevate his career on the European stage.

Born in Miami on November 21, 2007, to Antiguan parents David Hadeed and Jessica Hadeed , Hadeed has proudly represented Antigua and Barbuda on the international stage from an exceptionally young age.

In a remarkable achievement, he made his debut as an Under-20 international at just 14 years old in a match against Costa Rica national football team. His early exposure at that level quickly identified him as one of the nation’s brightest prospects.

Hadeed’s development pathway reflects a strong international pedigree.

He began his youth career in the United States with North Coast FC before moving to England to join West Ham United’s prestigious academy between 2019 and 2022.

He later returned to the United States to continue his growth with Columbus Crew and most recently signed professionally with Carolina Core FC (2023–2025).

In an official statement, Antequera highlighted Hadeed’s distinguished training background across multiple international youth academies and praised his contributions to Antigua and Barbuda’s national programme.

Beyond his youth appearances, Hadeed has also debuted with the senior national team, further solidifying his role as a key figure in the future of Antiguan football.

The move comes at a crucial time for the Málaga-based club, which is currently pushing for a playoff position after rebounding from a difficult start to the season.

With renewed momentum, Antequera is positioning itself as a strong contender for promotion, and Hadeed’s arrival is viewed as a strategic addition to strengthen their midfield options.

For Antigua and Barbuda, this signing represents more than just a club transfer; it is a proud moment for the nation’s football community. As Hadeed continues to develop on the European stage, his journey serves as inspiration for young athletes across the twin-island state, demonstrating that Antiguan talent can compete and succeed at the highest levels internationally.
